Counterflow with Mr. Schlenk

Wilhelm Schlenk was a German Chemist who passed away in 1943. He specialized in Organic Chemistry. He discovered Organolithium. He is best remembered for inventing the Schlenk flask; the main technique for using such a flask is counterflow. The sidearm allows a connection to a nitrogen manifold and bubbler.

Recently, we made a large batch of bubblers for one or our customers.

Schlenk is also remembered for his research in air-sensitive compounds and inventing the “Schlenk” line allowing the user to switch between gas and vacuum for the manipulation of those compounds.

Bubblers, anyone?
